Tune Up Services Header

Tune Up Services:

Vehicles are vital to everyday life. Therefore, it is important to keep your car in good condition in order to extend its life. A tune up is a kind of very basic routine maintenance and should be done every 30,000 miles or so. What is involved in a tune up may vary from service to service, but there are some very basic things that are almost universally involved.

The fuel filter is a device that filters the dirt and other particles of fuel burns so cleanly. During a tune-up, a mechanic is often necessary to replace it altogether depending on your condition. There are spark plugs in each engine cylinder which provide the initial spark that is used to burn the fuel. Spark plugs can wear out over time and this can lead to a firing delay or even combustion misfire. Thus, spark plugs are usually checked and replaced at a tune up. The spark plug wires are also often substituted; these cables carry electricity from the distributor and spark plugs give the sparks necessary for combustion.

Air filters can vary in shape and size, but all serve the same function: to keep dirt and other particles out of your engine chamber. All engines need air for combustion, and this is carried through an air inlet and filtered by a membrane air filter. The filter is usually changed during a tune up.

The engine uses a variety of rubber straps for running, like timing belts and drive belts. During a tune up, these should be checked for cracks or general wear to determine whether or not they have to be replaced.

Car engines use certain fluids to function properly, including liquid and liquid-assisted transmission direction. During a tune up, your mechanic will usually fill all fluids, including wiper fluid, which is used by the wipers to keep the windshield clean. A good mechanic should also perform an oil change, which a lubricant for all the gears in the motor to turn and allows your car’s engine to run smoothly.
