An axle is a shaft designed to guide the rotational movement to a part or an assembly of parts such as a wheel or a gear. A shaft is received by an outer diameter to the inner diameter of a hole, such as the bearing or hub, with which is a particular type of adjustment. In some cases the axle is fixed, not rotated, and a set of bearings or bushings inserted in the center of the piece allow it to rotate about the axis. In other cases, the wheel shaft and rotates integrally guidance system is located in the shaft bearing surface.

Axes of a Vehicle: Axes are mounted on a car parallel to the wheels’ alignment when the vehicle advances straight. These axes intersect with the axes of the wheels on each side, which are mounted connecting the center of two wheels on a transverse axis line.

The shafts are components of a vehicle which help maintain the relative position of the wheels to each other, and these relative to the chassis of the vehicle. In most vehicles the wheels are the only part that touches the ground and the axles must bear the weight of the vehicle and its additional load on this transport, along with other strain such as the acceleration and braking forces. Besides the objective of structural stability, the axes must comply with this and other functions depending on the design of the vehicle.

If your axes sound like they’re being worn down when turning a corner or turning in your tracks, your vehicle is in need of immediate attention. Visit us and we will provide you with the information and services you need to keep your axles in perfect condition.
